Leigh Insurance Agency of St Augustine Blog |
Tomorrow is Veterans Day in the U.S., and Leigh Insurance Agency will be honoring all those who served our country over the years. The holiday, however, wasn’t always known as Veterans Day. It dates back to 1918, when on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, an armistice was declared between the allied nations and Germany in the first World War.
‘Armistice Day’ was celebrated in countries outside of the U.S. the following year, and the date, Nov. 11, became a legal holiday in America in 1938. Following WWII and the Korean War, the day officially became known as Veterans Day in 1954. This Veterans Day, we’re asking our customers to pay their respects to all who have served and sacrificed for the United States. Your friends at Leigh Insurance Agency in St. Augustine, Florida, will be open and ready to give you and your family the insurance coverage you need. Make sure to stop by our office this week, 1797 Old Moultrie Rd., Suite 111, or give us a call at 904-826-0799 for a free quote. Have a wonderful Veterans Day!
