Spreading Holiday Cheer this Year

It's officially the season of giving!

It’s no secret that the holidays look a little different this year, and we’ve all needed a little extra cheer in the months passed. With the New Year around the corner, we’re all looking forward to putting this year behind us and hopefully starting anew. But while it’s easy to think of our own personal struggles, sometimes the most fulfilling way to spread that holiday cheer is to make someone else’s end-of-year a little brighter.

Whether it’s a text to a loved one in another state, a postcard or small gift sent through the mail, the little things mean the most. And for those who are able, the Betty Griffin Center in St. Augustine, which specializes in support and shelter for women and children, is still accepting nonperishable food items through this Friday, Dec. 18. The shelter will have up to 30 women and 30 children during the holidays, and they will also be accepting grocery store gift cards. Items can be dropped off to the center’s outreach office located at 2450 Old Moultrie Rd, Suite 202.
