Urethane
Urethane is known as the car paint that lasts the longest. It resists chipping and fading for over ten years or so, and it allows you to paint it over any paint job, leaving you the hassle of removing and extracting the former paint. Urethane immediately dries and doesn’t run compared to enamel paints. However, because of its excellent quality, it costs more than other car paints. Urethane is also a promising alternative to lacquer. Although, you’ll have to make sure that you are entirely sticking to urethane, primarily because you can’t paint lacquer over urethane.

Acrylic Enamel
Acrylic enamel also lasts as long as the car paint mentioned above since it creates a hard and firm shell over the entire vehicle. These are the two types of enamel paints you should know.

Single-stage paints offer you the convenience of applying one layer of color since the clear coat and base coat are mixed.
Two-Stage enamel paint, however, is the opposite. It’s basecoat, and clearcoat is separated, which also means you have to paint the car twice.

Acrylic Lacquer
Lacquer was the first car paint made was also only the only option for a couple of years. One advantage of Acrylic is that you can apply this paint without difficulty, plus it has a high gloss. Among the cons, however, is that it quickly fades when exposed to ultraviolet rays. Acrylic lacquer is also now illegal in several states due to the impact it has on the environment.

Acrylic Urethane
Acrylic urethane is a promising option when repainting your car. It has both the pros of enamel and lacquer -- its long-lasting composition and easy application. The only thing that makes using acrylic urethane complicated is its catalyst that allows a quick dry. Therefore, it should be applied right after it's mixed.
